Tree-tone is a premium plant food
formulated specifically for shade, fruit, and ornamental trees.
Tree-tone’s all natural formula contains Bio-tone®,
our patented blend of beneficial microbes. Bio-tone biologically
enhances our natural plant food to ensure superior plant growth. The
natural organics in Tree-tone breakdown gradually to provide a safe,
long lasting nutrient reservoir to feed the entire tree: leaves, trunk,
and roots.
- New Plantings
- Dig a hole twice as wide and the same depth as the root ball.
Discard 1/2 of the soil and replace with compost, peat moss, or
humus.
Mix Tree-tone in the amended soil as follows:
-
Trunk Diameter |
Amount of Tree-tone |
Up to 1.5 inches
|
4 lbs. total |
2-3 inches |
4 lbs. per inch |
Over 3 inches |
5 lbs. per inch |
Place plant in hole ensuring it is at the same depth that it was
grown
Fill the hole halfway with the amended soil, pack firm and water.
After the soil settles finish filling the hole leaving two inches
loose for water absorption.
Make slight depression around the plant to hold water and add
mulch.

- Feeding Established Trees
- Trees should be fed twice each year: in early Spring before
growth starts and in Fall after leaves drop but before ground freezes.
Use the following rates:

Trunk Diameter |
Amount of Tree-tone |
Up to 3 inches
|
3 lbs. per inch |
3-6 inches |
4 lbs. per inch |
Over 6 inches |
6 lbs. per inch |
Feed small trees by spreading Tree-tone on the ground that is
under and slightly beyond the branch spread. Feed large trees (over 6”
trunk diameter) as follows:
Make a series of 3 inch wide holes, 12 -18 inches deep, 2-3
feet apart, under the drip line of the tree (outer edges of branches).
Divide the Tree-tone evenly and pour into holes.
Backfill holes with soil and water thoroughly.
